Palm Lake Resort Beachmere has commenced work on croquet courts for the residents of both Beachmere Sands and Beachmere Bay communities.

Resort manager, Jenni Martin confirmed the plans.
“We’re really excited. Our communities are all about activities, and it’s something we have been wanting to do for a while, after numerous requests from residents.”

In true Palm Lake Resort fashion, the courts will be of the highest quality.

“We’re levelling the area now ready for grass seeding soon. There will be two full size championship croquet courts with real grass, built to an exacting professional standard, and ready for play this summer.”

Creature comforts haven’t been overlooked either.
“Along with outdoor seating there will also be a covered area and BBQ facilities,” Jenni continued, “so the Palm Lake tradition of long afternoon get togethers over a friendly rivalry and drink will continue with a whole new opportunity for fun.”

The croquet courts are another addition to a long list of amazing facilities for Palm Lake resort residents. With an undercover championship bowling green, tennis courts, resident workshop and four hole golf already at the resort, plus indoor and outdoor pools, a spa and sauna, a bowling alley, luxury cinema and a new proposed golf course coming soon, there will never be a shortage of things to do. And with the recent $3 million extensions to the Sands Country Club, this is the place to be.

According to Jenni, it’s all part of the Palm Lake Resort philosophy. “Our resort’s ethos is ’time for you’, and with all these facilities our residents can almost lose themselves here.”

The croquet courts are expected to be ready around Christmas. Of course all croquet equipment will be provided, Jenni said “but if a keen resident croquet player wants to bring their own custom mallets, then we’re all for it. Bring it on.”

Palm Lake Resort Beachmere Sands is forever striving to raise its standards of leisure and luxury. The latest treat for their residents is the $3 million dollar extension of the Sands Clubhouse, the community hub of the resort that now has almost double the space for residents to enjoy themselves. The clubhouse has been newly decked out with sumptuous decor. With echoes of a luscious tropical paradise adorning gorgeously printed lounges and intricate details, beautiful design infuses the building throughout. Exotic birds walk through jungles across the walls and three large glittering chandeliers cascade down from the high ceilings.

Not only does Palm Lake Resort pay careful attention to every luxurious detail, eco friendliness of their designs is also of utmost importance. Hebel has been used to construct the new extension of the clubhouse, a building material renowned for its energy efficient insulation qualities. The marriage between the existing clubhouse and the new extension was also carefully considered to ensure the seamless flow from one section to another so that the new extension perfectly matched the architecture and space.

Performances for fun and a laugh are part of the Beachmere lifestyle and with a new stage equipped with changing rooms and a spacious dance floor, the Sands Clubhouse is now geared up to put on a rollicking good show at any time, especially with the upgraded communications and electronics throughout the club. If you’re a bit of a performer yourself there’s also a new grand piano just waiting for its keys to be tickled.

The grand dining area now has double the seating space too so there’s plenty of room for friends and family to join you in delightful indulgences from the sleekly upgraded kitchen and service facilities. Plus a new carpark has been specially constructed with additional spacious parking for thirty more cars.

The Sands Clubhouse now also has even more quiet corners to tuck oneself away in to rest and relax such as the new fully stocked library brimming with books and novels. The games room also boasts two new full size billiard tables as well as dart boards for a bit of friendly competition and devious antics.

Palm Lake Resort leave nothing to be desired with the new Sands Clubhouse extension the latest example of luxury and elegance that is showcased throughout their highly popular resorts.

Renowned for their flawless planning and resort design, Palm Lake Resort left nothing to chance with their stunning entries.

The opulent world class country club, The Oasis, took out first place as the Best Commercial Building from $5 million to $10 million. Architecturally designed as the crown jewel centrepiece of the resort, it creates a thriving community hub where residents can easily congregate. A new benchmark in lifestyle resort living, The Oasis boasts sumptuous decor with glittering chandeliers, specially selected floor tiles imported from Italy and floor to ceiling wall murals commissioned exclusively for the resort. It’s the place for entertainment, leisure and pleasure and is one of the first of its kind to showcase its very own ten pin bowling alley. Along with this is a luxury cinema, indoor and outdoor swimming pools with a spa and sauna, a mini grand piano, games room, library, grand dining room with a dance floor, a craft room and a coffee lounge.

The resort also received first place for Best Medium Density Development, proof of the care and consideration taken to design the resort to perfection down to the very last detail. Each stage is expertly planned and has ease of access to the country club at the centre of the resort. Wide streetscapes and landscaping create a canvas for beautiful home designs to be laid out upon. Beautifully designed with thoughtful use of natural light, our homes feature modern yet timeless interiors with high quality fittings such as Caesarstone benchtops, European Smeg appliances, dual air conditioning and ceiling fans. With floorplans created for flexible room use, each home is constructed with Hebel, a building material known for its energy efficiency, thermal and acoustic insulation and lower impact on the environment. Every villa is complete with its own study and two car garage and perfectly finished off with a focus on effortlessly blending together indoor and outdoor living.

Well known for their elegantly furnished display homes, Palm Lake Resort also scored gold for the Best Exhibition Home $200,001 to $300,000, catching the judge’s eyes with their Paradise home design with its tropical alfresco retreat and fabulous skillion roofline facade.

“It has raked ceilings in the living area and entertainer sliding doors off the dining area to invite the outdoors in and seamlessly marry all of the living spaces into one expansive area. The large master bedroom has an adjoining spacious ensuite with a shower niche and walk in robe. Stone vanity bench tops are a feature with 2 Pac cabinetry and semi frameless shower screens. Waterfall stone bench tops, induction cooking and integrated range hood give the kitchen a state-of-the-art modern feel,” were just some of the judges favourable comments.

We may not like to admit it but, as we age, it becomes more and more comforting to feel like someone is looking out for you. Whether it’s a relative, a neighbour or even an app on your phone, it’s nice to know that there’s someone or something to reach out to in an emergency situation.

Palm Lake Resorts are designed with residents’ safety, comfort and peace of mind as among the top priorities, so it’s no surprise that all homes within Palm Lake Resort Beachmere are fitted with Safety Link emergency buttons.

The system is designed specifically to help residents remain independent and safe at home. In an incident or emergency, you can simply call for help at the touch of a button.

If an emergency occurs, residents simply reach for their Safety Link button to send an alert for assistance to the 24/7 Response Centre. Day or night, an operator will receive the alert and get in touch immediately via the base unit of the system. Once a resident informs the operator of the situation, an indicator light will flash so that users know help is on the way. The operator can also contact a friend or relative for residents to let them know what has happened.

For added peace of mind, residents are provided with a waterproof pendant to have on their person at all times. Because even though we may not feel a day over 40, sometimes things happen and we need a little help. Luckily, Safety Link and Palm Lake Resort understands that having a system residents can trust, at their fingertips, gives them back that peace of mind and freedom to live confidently in their home.

When induction cooktops first broke onto the cooking scene, chefs of all skill levels weren’t at all convinced. It seemed that many preferred the signature blue flame of a gas cooktop or the traditional look and feel of an electric cooktop and didn’t believe that a magnetic surface and touch-sensitive glass panel could get the job done. But they’ve been tried and tested, and the verdict is in – induction cooktops are now the way to go.

They’re slowly but surely replacing gas as the cooktop of choice in homes and kitchens around the world and Smeg induction cooktops are the first choice for Palm Lake Resort homes. Why? Users list an induction cooktop’s efficiency, safety and convenience as just some of the reasons they made the switch.

My Kitchen Rules TV celebrity and restaurateur Dan Mulheron (who won the Channel 7 reality series in 2013 with his wife, Steph) have provided cooking demonstrations at Palm Lake Resorts. Dan says he and Steph upgraded their home induction cooktop about six months ago and couldn’t be happier.

“Given the fact that we have a young family, we definitely prefer the induction cooktop over a gas stove,” Dan says. “It’s safe, because the heat dies as soon as you take a pan off, and it’s great for quick dinners for a hungry baby.”

Along with being time efficient, induction cooktops are energy efficient as well. Smeg Appliances spokeswoman Linda Brander says induction cooking uses less energy than gas and also emits less heat, making them safe for homes and ideal for restaurant kitchens.

“The heat is activated by the magnetic induction between the ferrous metal pan and the glass cooktop,” Linda explains. “The pan itself does not heat so temperatures are easily controlled, meaning you can rapid-boil water or simmer a stir-fry – or more importantly, melt chocolate – in the same zone.”

The convenience continues when it comes to cleaning an induction cooktop. Simply spray and wipe the flat surface after use and forget the days of scrubbing trivets and degreasing hot plates. The smooth surface can even double as a work surface in smaller kitchens.

“It just makes things that much easier for our young family,” Dan says. “It’s definitely our preference at home.”

New residents into Palm Lake Resort Beachmere are presented with a set of induction pots as their handover gift.

Forget playing fetch. On Sunday 26 February, local pooches were invited to be pampered at Palm Lake Resort Beachmere where they had the opportunity to rub paws with a local canine celebrity.

All for just a gold coin donation with proceeds going to RSPCA, the four-hour ‘Pet Pamper Day Spa’ event included a pet spa provided by Blue Wheelers, a visit from Bones the Dulux dog, RSPCA representatives and mini-obedience training sessions facilitated by an RSPCA trainer. The event featured a resident dog parade where the resort pooches strutted their stuff.

Palm Lake Resort Beachmere sales manager Brittany Baldwin was excited to welcome local pet owners into the resort to treat their dogs.

“Pets are an integral part of the Palm Lake Resort lifestyle, with many residents bringing their furry friends with them when they join our community,” Brittany says. “The Beachmere resort actually has the largest off-leash dog run in the Palm Lake Group, keeping our local dogs fit and socialised.”

Brittany says attending dogs and their owners were able to get photos with Tia, the star of the ‘My Dog’ dog food ads, who has lived at the resort since September 2016.

There was also a sausage sizzle provided to keep pet owners satisfied, while attending dogs were pampered.

Gold coin donations to the value of $267 were donated to RSPCA at the conclusion of the event.

Palm Lake Resort Beachmere Sands residents and staff recently travelled to Brisbane for the Mother’s Day Classic charity fun run. Not only did our team have a great time supporting this iconic breast cancer charity fun run (that had participants walking through inner city Southbank and along the Brisbane River) but they even received an award for ‘Largest Community Group’. The Palm Lake Resort Beachmere Sands sales team sponsored our local participants via the donation of matching pink shirts and hats that really made the Beachmere gang stand out from the crowd. Well done team! You’ve done Palm Lake Resort proud.

Palm Lake Resort Beachmere Sands turned 10 in September 2016 and what better way to celebrate the milestone than connecting with the resort’s very first resident, David Greig.

David has lived in Villa 2 since September 22, 2006. Prior to making the move to Beachmere Sands, David says he visited around 30 different locations to make sure he found one that was just right for his retirement needs.

Reflecting on the past decade, David says his Top 3 highlights of living at Palm Lake Resort include ongoing peace of mind, freedom to come and go without the burden of home ownership and being surrounded by likeminded people. With more than 200 residents, it is the sense of community that David feels enhances his retirement experience at Palm Lake Resort.

“There is a great caring in the community, especially if someone is ill or if there is a bereavement,” David says “The community sticks together in sickness and in health.”

That strong community spirit is reflected when residents come together in the communal dining room for their free weekly meal – a highlight of the week for David. He says residents also regularly visit the bar to sit back, relax and enjoy a coldie with the company of their neighbours and friends. But don’t think the bar is only a place for shared memories and friendship – its proceeds are used to enhance the resort.

“The bar is run by the residents and the funds are given back to the community to help the residents enjoy their retirement,” he explains.

David says, when he and his wife were originally looking for their retirement home, they found Palm Lake Resort’s lifestyle community offering the best suited to their situation. Ten years on, David holds the same opinion.

“I still believe that the independent retirement village is a more attractive proposition for retirees,” he says.
